Casa Vieja Guatemala June 2026

Casa Viejo has been on my bucket list for 9 years.I first sent an email regarding solo anglers and have checked in regularly over the years. This is a BIG $$ trip and requires planning along with a solid commitment. Many moving parts along with fluid schedule made it challenging to get a group together but fortunately Steve and I nailed down a 3 day charter. I had expected the lodge to be on the water but it is located in a busy town off the main road. The units are separated by a large metal gate and guard. The grounds and rooms are well kept and very clean. Staff was attentive and kind. We had a disappointing when Capt Tommy inadvertently ran over a giant piece of netting which disabled us for 3+ hours. Excluding that event the fishing was OK unfortunately no marlin or tuna but plenty of sailfish. That’s why they call it fishing and not catching. Next stop Tropicstar RESORT Panama
